Labor Day is coming up, which means that it's time to seize the opportunity to spend additional time with your friends! Here are 3 ways to make the long weekend a blast:

1. Don't expect it to be perfect.

First and foremost, have realistic expectations this Labor Day weekend. Despite the fact that we all desperately wish that life could stop so that we could sit around the campfire drinking wine coolers, every day life is messy, even on holiday weekends.

Remember that times and people change as we grow older, especially once we all break into the “real world” and conquer adulthood. Just making the effort to spend time with your besties is essential, even if it's not the same as those boozy weekends in college with your friends. Keep your expectations low, and you'll definitely enjoy the quality time together with your crew.

2. Embrace the great outdoors!

How do you plan a cheap (but still fun) weekend? Camp out with your friends!Campsite rentals won't hurt your wallet, and you can always find lots of free or fairly cheap activities to occupy your time and effort, like hiking, swimming, and playing games.

Don't have camping supplies? Try borrowing tents and other gear from family members. Also, investigate the campsite and surrounding area in advance so that you can plan out the entire weekend.

3. Remain in the moment as much as you can.

Unfortunately, even disappearing in to the woods doesn't necessarily quiet the constant brain chatter of adulthood. Although remaining mindful feels difficult at times, when you feel your mind wandering, try your very best to continuously refocus around the present moment. Also, consider bringing a notebook to jot down those overwhelming thoughts to be able to get them out of your head. Better yet, plan out mindful moments in your weekend and make them mandatory.

Hopefully these 3 tips will help you make the most of your Labor Day weekend. So get out there, stay present, and also have an amazing Labor Day weekend!
